Hello & Welcome to today’s bonus episode of Dream Business Dream Life.
This one is going to be short and sweet, well maybe not sweet as I am off on a rant again, but my intention is it will be a short rant.
I was chatting to a client earlier this week and we ended up having a conversation about why people do not all always get good results from investing in things, be that 1-2-1, in masterminds or within courses and memberships
And the chat sort of ended up with me going off on one and ultimately ended with me saying I could get on my soap box all day about this, I think will do a podcast episode on it…so Gemma I said I would do it so here it is.
I see and hear so many people bad mouthing something they have invested in saying it was rubbish, it did not do what it says it will do, blaming the mentor, blaming the program, blaming everything but not once looking at themselves.
Now caveat here I am not saying all mentors, all programs, all masterminds are good…I know there are some bad apples out there but what I am talking about here is the things that have a proven record that they can work, where other people doing the same thing are getting the results.
If others are getting the results and you’re not, then you have to look internally at why that is and in honesty the majority of the time it is down to the fact that others are doing the things they need to be doing and you’re not.
They’re taking the action.
They’re listening to the advice and running with it.
They’re using the support they are being offered.
They’re asking questions to make sure they understand it.
I’ve investing in things and not got the same results as others and everytime that has been because I have not been doing the things I need to do in order to get the results.
Now sometimes that has been intentional because I have realised, I am in the wrong place at the wrong time or maybe I have not done enough due diligence and the person I have invested in is not the right person for me.
But whatever the reason it is not the program, the coach or mentor that is the reason I am not getting the results it is because I am not doing the things I need to do in order to get the results.
When someone gets amazing results from a program, from working with a mentor, coach or strategist it is them that gets the results not the person that was teaching and supporting them.
Of course, they could not do it without the support of the program or coach, but they are the ones doing the work. You can be given all the information in the world; you can be given a step-by-step roadmap that will easily take you from A to B but if you do not do the work you will never get the results.
So, when you invest in anything remember the success of the investment sits in your hands; you get to choose how much time and effort you are prepared to put in because I promise the more you put in the more you get out.
